🚀 Build with MariaDB + Python!

Contribute to a major open source database, compete for a share of the $10,000 prize pool (sponsored by MariaDB plc), and demo your project for global recognition.

Choose a track:

  • Innovation! Showcase MariaDB features in real-world use cases.
  • Integration! Create or improve interfaces with other open source projects.

Submit your idea in September, and develop it by the end of October. We look forward to your entry! 🎉

Themes

To make it even easier to use MariaDB, we are seeking public contributions that showcase MariaDB features, and integrate MariaDB with existing open source projects. You can thus choose to participate in two tracks:
Integration
Improve or enable MariaDB Server in an existing open source project. E.g. python mariadb connectors, AI-frameworks, magics in the MariaDB Jupyter kernel, an open source project (CMS like Django or Plone), or something else python related - surprise us!
Innovation
Build a reference implementation for a MariaDB use case or functionality, using features such as MariaDB Vector, Galera Cluster, ColumnStore or other ones mentioned in MariaDB founder Monty’s blog, Celebrating 15 years of MariaDB. Our recommended data set to be used is https://github.com/MariaDB/openflights.
